This is a notice to inform you of our policy about all information that we record about you. It sets out the conditions under which we may process any information that we collect from you, or that you provide to us. Who we are?
godpar.com is a site operated by Shree Godpar Leva Patel Community (UK). We are a not-for-profit cultural community association.

What information do we collect?
Name, postal address, email address, year of birth and membership fee records are collected for purposes of managing membership, collecting fees and maintaining the members directory
We use cookies and similar technologies to run this website and help us understand how you use it.
Name and email address details are collected when you submit forms on the website to provide us with details for tracking number of guests expected at our events and for awarding prizes for educational achievements.
What legal basis do we have for processing your personal data?
Shree Godpar Leva Patel Community (UK) process your personal data for legitimate interests including:
- To invite you to functions
- Planning for annual events
- To communicate with you information related to our community
- To inform you of overdue membership fees (if applicable)
- To keep track of your annual membership fees and payments
- Celebrating academic and vocational achievements
- Analysing use and popularity of the website sections
When do we share personal data?
We do not share data with any other third-party organisations or individuals
Where do we store and process personal data?
Data is stored on secure servers. We may transfer your data outside the EEA using the Swiss-U.S. and EU-U.S. Privacy Shield Frameworks or another lawful data transfer mechanism that is recognized under EU Data Protection Law as providing an adequate level of protection for such data transfers.
How do we secure personal data?
Your data is stored on secure servers. Protection against unauthorised access and use is applied by strong passwords, and where applicable, multi-factor authentication.
How long do we keep your personal data for?
Membership details are retained whilst you are an active member. If your membership is cancelled by you or by the committee in place at the time, we may keep your data for up to six years, or longer if the committee in place at the time resolve it would be appropriate. We may not be able to delete your data before this as we keep a historic log of membership fees collected and any arrears.
Website analytics data is stored from December 19, 2016 onwards.
The website activity log is stored for seven days.
Data submitted in forms via the website is held for two years.
Your rights in relation to personal data
You have the rights to access and control your personal data.
Requests to access, correct or delete your data can be made to the Data Controller by emailing datacontroller@godpar.com.
